What is PRP?

PRP stands for Platelet Rich Plasma.

Platelets are found in your blood and contain several growth factors that are responsible for healing.

When injected into the scalp of thinning hair, these growth factors have been shown to stimulate hair to thicken up.

Research has shown PRP to be around 70% effective at achieving thicker, fuller hair.

We recommend 3 treatments, spaced 4 weeks apart for the best results.

It is then advised to have 1 'top-up' treatment every 6-12 months to keep the results looking their best.

PRP will only work on areas where there is hair. If the area is completely bald, PRP is not advised and other forms of hair restoration (hair transplant surgery) should be explored.

Will PRP work for me?

Once my head was numb, I didn't feel anything. The rest of the procedure was completely pain free.

My hair is much thicker after having all 3 treatments and i'm happy enough with the results that I am no longer looking at getting a hair transplant.

How is PRP
performed?

Firstly, a small sample of your blood is taken.
It is then placed into a machine called a centrifuge which spins the blood sample at high speed to separate the blood and the plasma.

Next, the scalp is numbed with a few local anaesthetic injections.

Once the top of your head is completely numb, the PRP is then re-injected into your scalp at the precise level of your hair follicles.
