What are Lip Fillers?

Lips come in all shapes and sizes, and at The Rejuvenation Doctors we are extremely proud of the natural results our doctors consistently achieve when it comes to lip augmentations

This is partly due to the fact we only use high quality brands of hyaluronic acid fillers that integrate into your lip tissue and feel soft, but it goes without saying our results are mainly due to our Doctors artistic technique and keen eye for detail.

Hyaluronic acid is a molecule that is made naturally by the body and found in the skin and joints, and its function is to provide hydration. This is what gives lips that plump, hydrated look.

No matter your age,

Lip fillers are great for anyone who wants to add a little volume and definition to their lips to make that cupid's bow really stand out.

We're experts at respecting the natural proportions of the face and the golden ratios of a great pair of lips, to make sure everyone leaves looking and feeling fabulous.

Thank you for my lips, they look amazing and so natural.

Everyone has commented on how nice they look.

Rejuvenate

As we age, there are several areas of our face that loose volume and structural support, and the lips and peri-oral area is one of them.

You may have noticed that your lips have gotten thinner, your philtrum have elongated or maybe you have developed 'barcode' lines around the mouth.

Our Doctors have some nifty tricks up their sleeve to help rejuvenate your smile. We add a very soft filler to help add a subtle amount of volume where it has been lost and to give structural support around the lips to help reduce the appearance of lines

FAQs

How long does lip fillers take to carry out?

The procedure itself takes less around 30 minutes, but this is after a thorough consultation, consent and photographs.

How long do lip fillers last?

12-18 months depending on your body's ability to break down the filler.

We have found that people who smoke and use sun beds tend to metabolise filler quicker than others.

Do lip fillers hurt?

The lips are a sensitive place to inject, so we do everything we can to make the procedure as comfortable as possible.

Depending on the result we are trying to create, we use a range of tools such as a needle or cannula (which is a blunt device that pushes its way through your lips instead of cutting, like needles do).

We also apply numbing cream and because all our treatments are carried out by doctors we able to use injectable anaesthetic (like you get at the dentist) to completely numb your lips (but remember this will mean your lips will be numb for a couple of hours if you choose this option and will incur an extra charge).

Do lip fillers have to look fake?

Absolutely not!

We like to think we're pretty good at natural looking lip fillers, head over to the gallery or our instagram to look at our results.

Are lip fillers safe?

We only use the highest quality hyaluronic acid fillers from the most reputable brands.

Hyaluronic acid is made and broken down in the body naturally, and has been used in aesthetics for around 35 years.

Any needle entering the skin, means there is a risk of bruising and infection, but as doctors we know the importance of carrying out procedures in a sterile environment.

It is rare, but there have been cases of filler being injected into arteries and blocking the blood supply to the skin.

The great thing about hyaluronic acid is, if a complication was to happen, or you were unhappy with your results - then as doctors we can inject a dissolving agent into the lips to completely dissolve the filler, so your lips returned to their natural state.

Can I have lip fillers whilst pregnant?

Unfortunately, you can't have any filler or Botox whilst pregnant or breast feeding. There aren't any studies showing it's harmful, but who'd want to sign up to one of them anyway? Enjoy your time off with your family addition and we'll be happy to see you back in clinic later.

Who can perform lip fillers?

Although it is not against the law in England for anyone to buy and inject filler, we strongly believe that aesthetic procedures should only be carried out by a registered medical professional. This is because 1 day courses simply are not enough to learn the anatomy, safe and sterile techniques, and medical knowledge required to recognise complications early and treat them.

All out treatments are carried out by fully qualified, registered and insured Doctors.
